For journalists and external researchers.
A small press operation. We engage with thoughtful coverage, especially of the structural side of the lab — the governance, the publication policy, and the federated compute model. We are less interested in coverage that personalises the lab around individual contributors.
Contact
press@alphabell.com — read by Mira Holloway (Bay Area anchor steward) and a small rotating press circle. We respond within a few business days for media inquiries.
What we'll talk about on the record
- The lab's structural commitments and how they have evolved.
- The published research, including the methodology behind the modification-under-review protocol and the paired-cell pairing protocol.
- The federated compute model and the funding model — including specific funders, with their consent.
- Halts that have been called, including those that resulted in delayed-release reports.
- The general state of the contributor pool, anchor regions, and cohort program.
What we will not talk about
- Unreleased research — including the specific content of work in active delay windows.
- Tier 3 indefinite-hold items. We will confirm or deny that an item is on hold; we will not discuss substance.
- Internal proposal queue contents prior to ratification.
- Individual contributors' personal lives or non-lab-related work.
- Speculative comparisons with named competitor labs.
